adventure-3

Hey there!!!
Long time no see... well that one from me to me!!
I almost disappeared from my blog, and today as I go through this blog, and pictures in my computer and my memories I regret!! Why ain't I updating it?!?! its not that there have been no adventures since Adventure-2. He has checked this blog like umpteen times to see any updates and as he sees no updates, he gets upset!! M sorrie for being so lazy... L ..  But I am here with this new post. Our journey, third adventure. J The memories are still fresh in me. It seems like just a couple of weeks ago that we left for this adventure but time just slips away! Its been almost a YEAR. 10 months!! November the 6th 2010 the day WAS that. Another awesome day of my life. Well awesome Half-day of my life I’d say. You’ll know why I say this!!
I remember that day was really hectic at my home since it was during festival of Tihar. The next day was Bhaitika (really important festival in our culture), so we had lots of preparations to do. It was hard to get permission from my mom to go on any adventures that day. But how could I stop myself from going on any adventure?!?! We had planned to go to Namo buddhha that day! But do you think if I had said that my mom would permit me?!?! So I decided not to tell her. Instead I told her I was going somewhere else (which place I do not remember now) but anyhow I managed to get a permission!
So early that morning I left from my home he from his! He picked me up and we were on the road. As usual we had lots of fun during the ride. Even the weather was loving that day. The early morning sun shone at us as if saying "have a great day and adventure ahead.".
with the sun even we shine....
the roads keep welcoming us as we keep riding..
As we rode, the concrete/lifeless city faded away and we were entering the green. I do not know why but now-a-days I have fallen in love with greens and nature. We could see hills and high mountains across the huge green fields. We stopped a couple of times to adore the surroundings and then we kept on riding.

huge fields on the way, very contrasting city of Kathmandu.

how We wished we could go and live out there for our entire life.. c

some lady (apparently)  enjoying the beautiful view..

adventure-TWO

hello there......
remember me??? well i am not important... whats important is what i am doing here... and if you remember my last post, you must also remember what i do here... well still if your memory is just like mine, then i do not blame you for not remembering my last blog... well i am here once again posting this blog to tell about my adventure with him...
the adventure we did last time was so so exciting, interesting and we had hardly came over it that there was even more interesting plan going for the following weekend(this plan sounded really exciting) so we were really planning and getting ready for it.
(i guess i have to brief the plan cause that is a very important part of this adventure)
the plan was to go to Kulekhani with some friends. even though the plan was not confirmed, we were really looking forward to it. but, there is always a big BUT in each of our adventures. and this time BUT did not bring any good news. i was so excited about the plan, i had gotten the permission beforehand (if you remember how i got permission for my last adventure, you will understand how tough this job is for me) BUT at the last moment i got to know that the plan was cancelled. i couldn't believe. i told him he was upset too.. i couldn't and didn't tell that to my mom though. c'mon i can't tell her that the plan was cancelled after getting the permission.. after all a confirmed permission should never be wasted. so we planned to hike around Kirtipur.
so finally THE weekend approached... i had a permission but where we were going was uncertain.. so i left in the morning, no idea what the day was gonna be like (my mom thought i was going to Kulekhani). I took a bus and met him on the way... he was already there waiting for me... then we took another bus to get to the stop where we get a bus to Kirtipur. There were no buses that day.. we waited n waited for a long time.. till we waited, we managed a breakfast for a hungry kid there, i remember him taking some pictures... still when bus didn't arrive, we even thought of walking there..... but it was also late for that, so we waited again... finally after a long, and i mean long wait a bus showed up.... we got into that and got off at Kirtipur after like half hour...
then what we did might be very predictable to you... yea, we started walking again... we had no clue where we were heading still we walked... new roads, new turnings, new surroundings, it was kinda joy.. we kept walking, talking, joking n walking... we went to a temple that was on the way, sat there for some time looked around, Ktm valley looked awesome from that height. then we started again, walked and c'mon i don't have to repeat it again and again about what we did...
then we got to one more temple, we had climbed a good long stairs to get there so sat there to gather our breathe again...
then we got to a Buddhist monument, was beautiful and clean there... we were hungry by then but can you believe he didn't even drink tea because i don't like tea.... thats not very good but very sweet of him... anyways once we were out, started again..
then guess what happened!!! i got a call from mum.... and she asked "where did yu ppl reach??" awww... she didn know what we were doing and i didn't want to tell her what we were doing so i lied tht we are still on the way.... i still feel bad for that... after i hung up, i was quite bothered for what i did and decided to tell mum the truth as soon as i came home... didn't want to call from there to tell the truth because after that she'd order me to come home immediately which i didn't want to do... so we walked again.. the same roads were getting quite boring but to help us with that boredom, we spotted a staircase that led towards a (kinda) jungle area.. adventurous us took that way and we started up.....we started but we had again no clue when the stairs would end... i had even counted the steps but now can't remember the exact number, i remember it was around 200... finally it ended and guess where we were... the first temple we entered earlier... we were back to the place from where we started... then again after sitting there for some time we walked back...
got to the bus stop and waited and waited and waited for a bus to come back but none came so we decided to walk till we got a bus... the sun was really up by then and hungry and thirsty we stopped by a shop and grabbed cokes.... after that again yes yes again walked.... after over an hour walk, we got to a bus stop again and then took a bus...
we were not in mood to come back home that soon so got off on the way and again thought where to go... first we thought to show some mercy to our tummies and get something to eat but what and where we had no idea.... we crossed Jawalakhel , a really busy place of the city and walked to momo magik, our now-a-daes favorite spot and ordered some food... then the harder part... i couldnt digest the lie i had told to my mum so till order was ready i decided to call her up and tell her the truth and did so... and to my BIG surprise, there was no negative reaction and no order to come home immediately.. ahh you don't know how light i felt after that.... so we crammed in our food and thought again... "where now??" we decided zoo... after a good rest, we headed zoo... i hid my camera in his bag (a strategy to save some bugs) and his bag looked strangely large.. haha... we got to zoo and what we see is, a BIG crowd.... great... even a LONG line for tickets.. of course that was the weekend, what else could be expected.. but we were not in favor of waiting in the line so immediately changed plans... we do tht too often.... so we changed our directions towards Patan (thts around 30 mins walk frm where we were then). there was this art installation happening with some concerts, so we decided to visit there.... we took a different way and got to the installation are... some french band was jamming and preparing and giving out the concert at the same time... the following are some pictures i got there...
Lo'jo(or sth lyk tht) band performing..

strange instrument being played..

more strange instruments...

against the marvelous sky there...

ready to rock...!!!! yeeeaahh!!!

we spent rest of the time there looking around, appreciating art works there, enjoying the concert and then headed home slowly.... took a bus which dropped him off on the way and from there i was home alone with loadsa memories of the day....

i am not sure if the whole adventure was of the type i enjoy or not but at the end of the day, this day became one of the most memorable days of my life.....

that is all for now... but just for now.... more adventures and more stories still await us.. so keep updated... :D
will be back with more adventures soon...

Home-Changunarayan-Khokana-Many places i don't remember names of-Bungmati-Champi-Chapagun-Khumaltaar-Basantapur-Home

"whats the plan for this saturdae??"
"nth"
"mmmmm...."
"let's go somewere"
"OK... but were??"
"anywere"
"mmmm......"
"mmmmm......"
and after lots of thinking he suggested "Changunarayan?!?!"
i had never been der.... atleast did not remember much about tht place cuz las tym i was der i was too little i guess... leave it... i dunt remember... so my response was "Ok... great... how do we get der??"
"mmmm...... we can take bus or sth..."
".....mmm.... or we can take mah skutie..."
"ok tht'll b ok.... we myt get pblm while cumin back... so skutie wud b OK.."
"grt... but 1 pblm"
"??"
"wat m i gonna tell mah mum?? c wont lemme go tht far on mah skutie...."
"thts a pblm..."
but it was DONE in  my head tht i was going and i was sure tht i WAS gonna get a permission frm mum....
"mmmm... we'll c abt it... "

that was a conversation i had with him during planning our FIRST adventure...(well we had no clue what adventure we would make that dae then....)
So as planned we left for Changunarayan that morning..(I told mah mum about the plan as it was and didn't let her deny cuz she was brushing her teeth wen i told her... hehe... n then i started brushing n brushed for a longer tym thn required...tht is how i got the permission, let's ignore the fact tht was not actually a permission ;D)
ahh so where were we?? yea.. I left totally hyped up for Changunarayan, OUR first adventure, picked him up on the way n We were off.... and then who would dare stop US??? the roads were OUR the tym was OUR the dae was OUR, the adventure was OUR,  so we kept going, stopping just to refill at a gas station... talking, laughing, singing, being quiet at times, teasing each other and ummm..... yea. n after loadsa turnings, gud roads, bad roads, bumpy roads, dusty roads, clean roads, steep roads(i dunno if i used the correct word), we were there finally after almost an hour ride... We got a place to park my skutie n we started to walk..... full of energy, cams out, ready to spend a long time there... so we walked took some pictures here n there, talked, and walked and walked... We stopped at this place for some time waited for something interesting to pass through so we could get some pictures.... when nothing like that happened we started again...

We reached Changunarayan Temple in like minutes... sat there for some time... He took a picture of mine(which made my profile picture too for facebook).

This pic of mine at Changunarayan....

and we started again.. to walk of course...Took a couple of pics on the way back.....

This pic is one of them and then Changunarayan was done within minutes...

i couldn't believe over an hour ride to get there n it was done within minutes?!?! as we walked we realized tht we were already back to parking area... didn't even take an hour to get back... This was the start of our adventure.... so we rode again, way back home......On the way, checked out a rough way..... but tht led us to sort of  dead end... so came back on OUR way, way back home......  I was really not in mood of coming back home.... There were guests at home n i also wanted to ignore them... so we again talked, sang, thought where should we go...... and we were close to home already still no idea where to go..... n then an idea popped up..... "how far is khokana??" n we knew where we were headed.... We were close to mah home but took a different road and headed Khokana...... and NOW THE ADVENTURE STARTS...... the unplanned one... So we took over the roads again and rode and rode... On the way he finally guessed who my new and first model is(model has a long story and is yet untold.. mayb insome other posts).
After around one hour ride, we were out of Kathmandu and entered a completely different world.... A much peaceful one, much cleaner one, a much natural one..... I was really liking the place as we closed towards Khokana.... The greenery and fields started, a really beautiful place started.... And finally we were there.... We got a place to park mah skutie and once more totally hyped up we started walking.... Around 10 minutes of walk some pictures on the way and we were in one of those really beautiful places i have ever been to around Kathmandu.  It was a total contrast to what we were seeing everyday in Kathmandu. I just couldn't believe THIS place was this close and I had never been there...
Tried to capture some parts of natural beauty in my cam..... Following pictures are what i could capture but trust me the view you can get being there is far far better than what you can see in pictures....

There were few houses there good distance apart from each other. That really helped keeping crowd, pollution away.

Khokana can be called a place of farmers. It was all farming area. These are rice pulses from those fields.

One more shot from beneath the crops.

He took some pictures here and there.

These were couple of houses in the center of the vast fields..

A family of sheep.

A very sheepy shot i got.

Another sheepy shot i got there.

walking along the rice fields.....

there was a shephard with some sheep. i wanted to shoot tht but <sigh> i was too slow and missd the shot. the next tym i spotted the shephard there were no sheep around. this is where i spotted him. he is right there under the umbrella if you couldn't spot him.

After a quality time there, we headed back... walked back to skutie.... This tym he took over the wheels. I enjoyed the pillion seat.

You are not thinking that was all adventure, are you?? cause that was not. Now we headed towards Bungmati. Thts exactly opposite the way our homes were located. Even farther than where we were at that moment. I let him take the lead. The farther we were from Kathmandu, the better the environment got, the cleaner and greener the world seemed. And i was totally in love with everything around me. I was loving the time. Even the weather was in a really good mood. And i was just smiling all the time.

The roads got the worst it could at places but his riding skills helped a lot lot. Whenever i was the driver at those places, i was compelled to let him take over. Was just impossible for me to cross these places. So we switched the front seat like UMPTEEN times. Even after this type of bumpy, slippery ride, there was not even a tiredness in us. We were still full of energy and ready to take in whatever we faced ahead.

It was around Dashain, a festival of swings. We crossed lots of bamboo made swings on the way. I wanted to stop for a quick swing but we couldn't. And finally at one place, we saw a swing where some kids were enjoying. We asked them if we could join and they didn't deny. And that was a break from bumpy roads n skutie seat. We swung there for some time. He got some really nice snaps of me swinging.

thts a snap of me by him. totally love this picture.

Once more we started the ride. We rode and rode the bumpy roads, loving the adventure, loving everything we went through and we were going through.
And now we were close. The bridge we were headed to was close. The way we had to go through at last was the most challenging. It was the narrowest way i had ever seen in my life and now i was gonna ride through that path. He took over the handle again here. And finally after that path, we were at one end of the bridge. We stopped here for some time, looked around, adored the place, joked around, took some pictures.

one of the pic i loved that day. thts him holding on, modelling a l'il bit for me.

this is the bridge and thts how my shoes looked till we got there.

That was the furthest we got that day. From there we headed towards Kathmanndu again. Riding through fields and some more muddy, rough (so called) roads we caught smooth road. That told us we were close to Kathmandu again. As we came closer the greenery started to fade way, it started to grow hotter, dustier and i already missed where we were just some minutes ago. And so we entered Kathmandu, where we belonged. Now maybe the impact of environment or i do not know what energy seemed to drain. We were hungry, wanted to stop.
So fighting the Ktm traffic, horns, pollution, we headed New Road. Entered a Restaurant called sth lyk Mood  restaurant or something. Totally hungry, we ordered some food. And that was the hardest part of the day. Eating really bad spaghetti(worse thn we had ever tasted) and then momos, finally after paying we left. My mum had called me and i could feel her mood going grim.
We headed home now. The traffic was really horrible, i was missing the places we had been to earlier that day. After dropping him on the way, i headed home alone. Got home after over 80 kms ride. Mom had a good lecture ready for me but it was all worth it. I didn't mind taking in the lecture. The strange thing was i was still smiling after a super long and dramatic lecture.

So that was the ADVENTURE, THE FIRST ONE.
We made memories and this day will stay close to my heart till the day it stops.

Thats all for this adventure...
And yea there are more stories, yet to be told.
So wait for more adventures and new posts with more pictures.

Till then ENJOY and KEEP SMILING.
